Summary of The Book Running Out of Time

This book is about a 13 year old girl named Jessie Keyser, who lives in an 1840s type village of Clifton, Indiana. But there's a deadly disease (Diphtheria) going around the village and Jessie is sent by her mother to leave the village in order to try and find a cure for everyone.  Jessie finds it very hard to make sense of what's outside of the town, because up until this point in she has been living in a "normal" little village and doesn't know about some alien items and the way they work. It's a shock for Jessie, she's trying to explain to others around her about the illness that has hit the village, but consistently becomes weaker. Up until the point where she passes out with Diphtheria. But in this adventure/mystery book, a big twist, revealed early in the book, makes you want to learn more, and wonder what it would really be like if you were in that situation.
